As GlasWeld celebrates its 25th year of doing business, we are truly grateful for the opportunity serve the glass industry over that time.  As the president and CVO (Chief Visionary Officer) of GlasWeld, I would like to personally thank the valued partners that have been involved in our success. Those partners include our dedicated employees, customers, international distributors, vendors and industry professionals whom we have had the privilege of working for and with over the years. Additionally, I would like to thank the families of our dedicated staff.

It is an exciting time at GlasWeld. We are coming off the most successful year in our company’s 25-year history. The transformation of our brand and philosophy over the past year has given us new energy and momentum as we move into the future.  As a company, we are rediscovering our vision and purpose. Let me elaborate…

A few months ago while at a trade show in Germany, I was approached by a customer who has been in the glass repair business in Holland for several years. He had been using GlasWeld and was very proud of that fact. He presented me with a question that I will never forget. He asked what it was like to be the president of a company that has two product lines that are the best in the world. At that moment, my perspective of our organization changed forever. It is quite humbling to know that we are perceived this way by our customers. My answer to him at that time was “I am Very Proud.”

When I took the time to reflect on that moment, I realized that nearly all of our partners have a similar belief about our people and products. We are fortunate to be able to offer products and services that are world-class. I also understand the responsibility that goes along with these high expectations — expectations that we will continue to strive to exceed.

As we move forward, we are looking at transforming our purpose into something more than just great products and services. Although those are the things that have made us successful over the years, I believe that sustainable success in the future requires a shift in our vision.  As I look at future, I see an opportunity to further improve our mission of reflecting excellence in everything we do.  As we will continue to innovate and improve our product and services to our customers, it is equally important that we look at the social responsibility we have as a company.

As I have traveled the world visiting partners and distributors over the past few years, the possible impact of global warming on the environment seemed to be at the forefront everywhere I went. As a country and an individual, we have been insulated from the issue. Personally, I was a bit of a skeptic. But it soon became clear to me that this is a real and growing worldwide problem.

The more I was exposed to the issues, the more I felt that we could use this concern as a marketing tool to help grow GlasWeld. After all, the environmental impact of millions of tons of auto and flat glass going into landfills is a reality. What a great angle to sell more stuff.  I proceeded to talk to our customers and consumers about the idea. The interesting thing is that the more research I did, the more emotional the issue became. Then one day I realized that this was more than just a marketing idea, it was an opportunity to make a difference in the world. An opportunity to make the world a better place. An opportunity, as a business, to have a purpose and mission that was genuine and noble.  For the first time in my life, I saw an opportunity do more then just grow a company, but grow a cause. 

We are fortunate to have this opportunity, because the products and services we offer save resources. Most companies can’t make this statement. We make products that can make the world a better place. A better place for you and me, but more importantly, a better place for our children and future generations.  Who could ask for anything more? We do have the opportunity to create change in the world. To help make the change you want to see in the world, you don't have to be loud. You don't have to be eloquent. You don't have to be elected. You don't even have to be particularly smart or well-educated. You do, however, have to be committed.

Over the next few months, I will be providing the fact and figures that justify the reasoning for this cause. Once you see the impact that we are making on our world and the way we can instigate change, I believe you will understand why I want you to join us in this noble cause.

So I invite you all to get involved in helping GlasWeld change the world.  Follow our journey or better yet, hop on board and help us make the world a greener and better place.  At the end of the day, who could dispute that doing the right thing, could ever be wrong.
